Castle Cary and Surrounds
A pretty market town built of 'Ham' stone from nearby quarries, which gives the town's buildings their lovely golden colour. The Market House dominates the centre of town, housing the Museum, two old prison cells and the Information Centre. The town has a good range of specialist shops, high quality grocers, a thriving art gallery, delicatessens, cafes and restaurants.

Stonehenge
The great and ancient stone circle of Stonehenge is one of the wonders of the world. It is probably the most important prehistoric monument in the whole of Britain and has attracted visitors from earliest times. It stands as a timeless monument to the people who built it. The stonehenge that we see today is the final stage that was completed about 3500 years ago.

Tyntesfield House
This spectacular Victorian country house and estate has recently been saved for the nation by public generosity. The house is a wonderful 19th-century estate with a working kitchen and gardens that delight in every season. It has been home to four generations of the Gibbs family containing grand Victorian designs to 20th-century objects.

Montacute House
A Magnificent Elizabethan stone-built house, incorporating National Portrait Gallery exhibition, garden and park. This Renaissance manor house is filled with historic treasures and houses a fantastic exhibition of 17th-century textile samplers and the long Gallery boasts Elizabethan artwork from the National Portrait Gallery
The house was the fitting film location for 'Sense and Sensibility' (1995).
